Der vergangene Workshop am 21. Juni 2025 mit GePGeMi e.V. im Rahmen des Projekts „Women Solidarity for building Trust and Resilience throughout the EU“ (moveGLOBAL) und „Vielfalt im Dialog – mit EBAV“ (GePGeMi) war ein inspirierendes und sehr lebendiges Zusammentreffen einer vielfältigen Teilnehmendengruppe. Überwiegend nahmen Frauen mit Migrationsgeschichte teil, begleitet von einigen Männern – fast alle sind Migrant*innen der ersten Generation, die als Erwachsene nach Deutschland gekommen sind.
Zum Einstieg stand die persönliche Reflexion im Fokus: Unter den Leitfragen „Wer bin ich heute?“ und „Welche Identität habe ich?“ tauschten sich die Teilnehmenden in Kleingruppen aus. Dabei entstanden spannende, berührende und teils humorvolle Perspektiven auf gelebte Identitäten.
Besonders eindrücklich waren Aussagen wie:
– „In Deutschland bin ich braun, in Indonesien bin ich weiß.“
– „Ich bin Krankenschwester und alleinerziehend.“
– „Ich bin eine Frau mit Stern – meine Identität ist divers.“
– „Migrant*innen sind wie Zimmerpflanzen – sie brauchen eine sichere Umgebung.“
Diese Aussagen spiegeln wider, wie komplex, wandelbar und kraftvoll migrantische Identitäten erlebt werden. Viele Teilnehmer*innen betonten, dass sie durch ihre Migration sogar mehr Spielraum haben, verschiedene Identitäten zu leben – im Gegensatz zu einheimischen Deutschen. Gleichzeitig wurde deutlich, wie wichtig Anerkennung und Zugehörigkeit sind – nicht durch Anpassung, sondern durch Akzeptanz ihrer Vielfalt.
In der zweiten Workshophälfte standen die persönlichen Erfahrungen als Migrant*innen im Mittelpunkt. Der Austausch war intensiv, offen und von großem gegenseitigem Interesse geprägt.
Zum Abschluss formulierten die Teilnehmenden ihre Wünsche an Politik und Gesellschaft – etwa mehr Sichtbarkeit, Wertschätzung und strukturelle Unterstützung für migrantische Lebensrealitäten.
Insgesamt war der Workshop ein voller Erfolg: wertschätzend, empowernd und ein starkes Zeichen für die Kraft der Vielfalt.

The recent workshop with GePGeMi as part of the project „Women Solidarity for Building Trust and Resilience throughout the EU“ (moveGLOBAL) and „Diversity in Dialogue – with EBAV“ (GePGeMi) was an inspiring and very lively gathering of a diverse group of participants. The majority of the participants were women with migration backgrounds, accompanied by a few men – almost all of them are first-generation migrants who came to Germany as adults.
The workshop began with a focus on personal reflection: under the guiding questions „Who am I today?“ and „What is my identity?“ the participants exchanged ideas in small groups. This led to fascinating, touching, and sometimes humorous perspectives on lived identities.
Particularly striking statements included:
– „In Germany, I am brown, in Indonesia, I am white.“
– „I am a nurse and a single mother.“
– „I am a woman with a star – my identity is diverse.“
– „Migrants are like houseplants – they need a safe environment.“
These statements reflect how complex, changeable, and powerful migrant identities are experienced. Many participants emphasized that through their migration, they have more freedom to live different identities – in contrast to native Germans. At the same time, it became clear how important recognition and belonging are – not through assimilation, but through acceptance of their diversity.
In the second half of the workshop, the focus shifted to personal experiences as migrants. The exchange was intense, open, and characterized by great mutual interest.
In conclusion, the participants formulated their wishes for politics and society – such as more visibility, appreciation, and structural support for migrant realities.
Overall, the workshop was a great success: appreciative, empowering, and a strong statement of the power of diversity.
